Ed Cayer

Mr. Cayer is Vice President of Ocean Produce International, a company based in Shelburne that is developing and adapting sea vegetables for market. Mr. Cayer is an experienced international trade development specialist, having worked with the International Centre for Ocean Development as Corporate Management Advisor, the Canadian International Development Agency as Director, General Operations for Bilateral Programs, and Deputy Regional Director (Central and Southern Africa), as well as the Nova Scotia Department of Development as Executive Director, Policy and Planning. His work in the international field was recognized with the Government of Canada Merit Award for outstanding contributions to managing Canada's international development assistance program. Mr. Cayer is a past member of the International Advisory Board for Dalhousie University's Centre for International Business Studies, and a Lecturer at the University of Ottawa, McGill University, University of Western Ontario, and Saint Mary's University. In addition to his training at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Mr. Cayer is a graduate at St. Francis Xavier University.
