Don MacLeod

Donald A. MacLeod is Vice President-General Counsel of Secunda Marine Services Ltd. Secunda Marine Services is a multipurpose shipping company based in Dartmouth. The company operates a fleet of eighteen vessels engaged in offshore oil and gas development, ocean towage, salvage, cable laying and general cargo. Secunda Marine operates in both the Canadian and International markets. In his capacity as Vice President-General Counsel of Secunda Marine Services Limited, Don MacLeod is a key participant in the establishment of corporate strategies and objectives. His responsibilities include special projects, the co-ordination of legal issues, insurance, and public affairs. Don MacLeod served as a political aid to a number of Federal Cabinet Ministers from 1984 to 1989. Mr. MacLeod received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours History) from Mount Allison University in 1980 and his Law Degree from the University of New Brunswick in 1983. Mr. MacLeod is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Canadian Maritime Law Association. He is Director of the Shipowners' Mutual Protection and Indemnity Association, and the Barbados Shipowners' Association, Vice President of The Halifax Club, and Vice President of The Scots - The North British Society. Don MacLeod sits on the Province of Nova Scotia's Premier's Energy Council.
