Vivian Thomas

Vivian Thomas is currently Program Coordinator for the Black Educators Association and a member of the Human Resource Development Canada Black Work Group. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Thomas was Manager of the Cunard Adult Learning Centre. She is also been an instructor at the Centre, Coordinator of the YMCA Data Processing Program, instructor/counsellor at YMCA Job Generation, and an instructor with the Dartmouth Work Activity Society. Ms. Thomas is an active member of the African Canadian Community in Halifax having served as a member of the Multipurpose Advisory Board, a board member with the Cultural Awareness Youth Group, a board member with the Voices Black Theatre Ensemble, the Treasurer of the Black History Month Committee, a tutor with the YMCA tutoring program, the Chair of the Community Youth Network, and a volunteer Coordinator for the North End Community Clinic. Ms. Thomas holds a B.A. from Dalhousie University, a Business Education Diploma from Halifax Business Academy.
