As many of you know, the Bridgewater Development Association has been introducing Property and Business Owners in Bridgewater Downtown to the benefits of forming a Business Improvement District (BID).

To date, the BID Steering Committee has identified a proposed BID District and members on the Steering Committee have been delivering information to Property and Business Owners.   • All citizens of all ages who believe in a vibrant LOCAL shopping district for downtown Bridgewater

  • All those who remember the way King Street was and all those who picture a new life for the riverfront road

Certain landmarks along King Street, including Cummings, the old LaHave Furnishings, and Baptist Church buildings, as well as others will be hosting open houses.

  • Clings to post your ideas on windows
  • Blackboards on which to chalk your dreams
  • A "say something that rocks" box, a soapbox for positive ideas!
  • A free community BBQ at the South Parkade, sponsored by the Town of Bridgewater
  • A welcome from property owners to share conversations about bringing life back into an empty space
  • Window art and plenty of photo opportunities
  • Dollar-off vouchers for a meal at participating downtown restaurants following the event

Business Improvement District in Downtown Bridgewater

Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) are formed when local businesses join together to improve, promote and undertake projects that will result in a stronger and more competitive commercial main street or business district.

  • Streetscape Improvements
  • Seasonal Decorations
  • Special Events

The Bridgewater Development Association (BDA) invited all Downtown Bridgewater Business and Property Owners & Operators, and interested residents, to a meeting to explore the opportunity for a local BID. It was an inspirational evening of Guest Speakers and discussion.
