Skate Park

The Bridgewater Development Association's skateboard committee has been working hard towards the creation of a permanent skate park within the Town of Bridgewater.

The site for the permanent Skateboard Park is Generations Park, off Glen Allan Drive, near the HB Studios Sports Centre.  The Youth Action and the Property Action Teams have joined together to work on this important project. The Town of Bridgewater has set aside one acre of land in Genertions Active Park for the permanent Skateboard Park.

logo-smartskateSmart Skate, the Skateboard Park’s committee under the Youth Action Team is chaired by Vaughn Whynot.  The Smart Skate team is presently sourcing money to have the design completed and will embark upon a community and corporate fundraising campaign when the design is completed late 2010.

The Bridgewater Development Association's has allocated $20,000 to help pay for installing an asphalt surface and notes that the location also holds potential for meeting the needs of BMX bikers as well.
