What's Your Pleasure?
Peaceful parks, tranquil gardens and stimulating trails dot the town's
landscape. Shipyard's Landing provides a convenient launch for boaters
to explore the river or coastline or you can simply choose to day moor,
picnic, and enjoy the river scenery. Jog or hike along 8km of the scenic
Centennial Trail. Travel inland by car to see quaint villages and countryside.
Bike along the LaHave River heading for the open sea on either the east
or West Side of the river. Whichever way you go, get ready for some of
the province's most spectacular scenery and interesting locales within
minutes; such as the world famous and beautiful UNESCO World Heritage
Site, the Town of Lunenburg.
With the lovely LaHave River running through it, the Bridgewater area
is also virtually surrounded by water. Not to mention the hundreds of
crystal clear inland lakes, rivers and streams in close proximity! It's
little wonder that water activities ranging from sailing to power boating,
kayaking to canoeing, windsurfing to water-skiing feature high on everyone's
list of " favourite things to do in Bridgewater".
"To
Sharron and me, retirement is a four-letter word, G-O-L-F. And where could
we live any place better? When we're not looking out our front window
at the lovely LaHave River, we are within 'driving' range of the best
and newest course in Nova Scotia, Osprey Ridge Golf Course that was designed
by the nationally renowned Graham Cooke. To make retiring in Bridgewater
even more attractive, there are actually two courses in this community,
the other one is Olde Town Golf Course, and several others within a short
drive... As a retirement choice for us, Bridgewater was a hole in one!"
Dan & Sharron Bonner, retired professional couple and avid
golfers on why Bridgewater is their wise retirement location!
For the golf lover, whether it's a recreational lifestyle pursuit or
hosting your business colleagues, Bridgewater is a superb choice to live
and work. Fortunate to have two excellent golf courses in the community
(Bridgewater is also just a 30-minute drive to 5 other excellent area
courses) :
